How InstinctScore works

An instinct benchmark for the things you judge by feel: time, shapes, quantities, motion and color.

Task performance · 0–1000

Instinct Score

How well did you do? Ten rounds add up to your score. Later rounds are worth more points, from 40 in the first round to 220 in the finale.

Self-assessment · 0–1000

Instinct’s Core

How well did you judge yourself? Predict your rank among other attempts before checking each answer. Core measures how close those predictions were to your measured ranks.

Choose a skill. Try ten rounds.

Games run free in your browser, with a visual example before you start. Fresh sets vary the task geometry or sequence; difficulty rises across the ten rounds.

What are you compared with?

Other attempts under matching game rules, difficulty, timing and presentation conditions. These are participating players, not a representative sample of the world’s population. The current attempt is excluded from its own comparison.

When do rank and Core appear?

A measured task rank needs at least 30 other comparable attempts. A whole-set rank needs 30 other comparable completed sets. Until then, your points and predictions are saved, while rank and Core comparisons remain pending. The report shows how many predictions have been assessed. A measured comparison is frozen once assigned.

Core and task performance are independent. You can score well and overestimate your rank, or score modestly and predict it accurately. Confidence direction shows whether you tended to overestimate or underestimate yourself. Older point predictions remain in history and are not included in new Core summaries.

Reports may compare individual tasks using matching task evidence from different sets. A sum of task averages is labelled as a composite, never as a real player’s full-game score or percentile.

Is this an IQ or personality test?

No. InstinctScore is a collection of skill games and informal self-assessment benchmarks. It does not diagnose intelligence, personality, health or psychic ability. Device, input method and display conditions can affect results.
